I’d like to take the opportunity to introduce myself as the Chairperson of the Friends. I am thrilled to have been given the opportunity to help organise the fundraising events for such a lovely school and I promise to work hard to ensure that these events are successful.
I am also very pleased to have a Vice Chairperson in Ginny Joyce who has been an integral part of the Friends for a few years.
The Friends is very much a team effort and I can’t stress enough that we really value the input and support of all parents and carers and everyone is very welcome to be involved as much or as little as they would like. I look forward to hopefully meeting more of you. Please do not hesitate to contact me via the schools office if you would like any further information.
The Friends of Henbury View are a group of parents who have fun running events for the school. We raise funds with many different activities throughout the school year. Our main events are the school fairs held in the summer and before Christmas. As well as these, we have many other activities from school discos, bingo nights, quiz nights, welly walks, raffles and much, much more !!
The Friends have an ‘open door’ policy and encourage involvement, however great or small, from any parent or guardian who wishes. We are fortunate to be well supported by both the parents and staff of Henbury View. In turn we have over the years been able to donate funds for many items of equipment, from books to computers.
Recent events have enabled The Friends to raise sufficient funds to redevelop the pond area, paint new playground markings and purchase new books.
As ever, The Friends could not make these fantastic contributions without the support of the children, parents, staff, families and friends – in fact all of the Henbury Community – so Thank You all !
We are currently subsidising the sponsorship of Inder, and Indian child, through the charity Action Aid. The pupils arrange fund raising activities to cover the cost of this sponsorship and the Friends have pledged to cover any shortfall each month. Henbury receives regular updates from Inder, which are shared through-out the school. Further information can be found on the Friends notice board.
Nestle Box Tops Promotion
We are collecting the ‘Box Tops for Schools’ tokens, found on Nestle cereal packets. These tokens can be exchanged for a wide variety of books, which will further enhance our new school library. Please bring in your tokens – the collection box is attached to the Friends notice board- Thank you.
Yellow Moon Catalogues
We have supported the Yellow Moon catalogues for a number of years now.
These are brochures specifically marketed as ‘fund raising’ catalogues and as new editions are produced, they are distributed through-out the school for you all to browse at your leisure!
Anyone wishing to order should always quote the Henbury’s unique reference number – SHE1139 – as by doing so, Henbury receives up to 25% cash back from every order!
We are proud to be able to make a difference to our school.
Watch this space for the next Friends event !
