  • Harvest Festivals- 17th/18th/19th October

    This week, children from across the school have been holding their Harvest Festivals. The children sang a range of songs including 'Big, Red, Combine Harvester', 'Dingle, Dangle Scarecrow', 'Harvest Samba' and our favourite 'Cauliflowers Fluffy'. The children also performed poems about Harvest and Harvest prayers.

  • Year 4 Europe Day- 18th October

    Today, Year 4 had a fabulous day celebrating their Europe Day! The children all came to school in European non-uniform, some children dressing in traditional clothes and others in the colours of European flags. The children enjoyed a range of activities including food tasting, Maths symmetry flag activity, reading comprehension about European landmarks and a team challenge building European bridges. What an awesome way to end their Geography learning journey.

  • Harvest Assembly- 12th October

    This afternoon, Revd Jane Burgess visited our school to lead an assembly all about Harvest and the significance of this time of year. She spoke about the importance of harvesting food at this time of year and how we can collect food to help people less fortunate than ourselves.

  • Reading Challenge Celebration- 11th October

    Today, we were lucky to welcome Jessica from Corfe Mullen library. She shared with us who had completed the summer reading challenge and have out certificates. Amazingly, over 1/3 of the children across the school took part the reading challenge this year! She also spoke to us about events coming up at the library that we could visit with our families. There is a winter reading challenge this year that will start after half term- look out for more information soon!

  • Year 3 Parent Share- 11th October

    This afternoon, Year 3 had their parent share. The children sang two songs from their music unit, acted out the book 'How to wash a woolly mammoth' and performed a poem about prehistoric Britain.

  • World Mental Health Day- 10th October

    Today was World Mental Health Day 2023. This year the theme is ‘Mental health is a universal human right’. To recognise this in school, we will be asking the children to take a few minutes to check in on how they are feeling. This embeds the importance of taking time to notice their emotional well-being and how that can impact on their day.

  • KS1 Music Workshop- 10th October

    This morning, children in Year 1 and 2 had a music workshop led by the Benedetti Foundation. Due to receiving the Music Mark award, we were one of only nine schools to receive a workshop morning which the children thoroughly enjoyed.

  • Year 4 Parent Share- 9th October

    This afternoon, Year 4 had their first parent share of the year. The children sang songs from their music unit and performed a fairy tale poem that linked to their English learning journeys. They then made structures using straws and masking tape with their grown ups to model how to make structures stable, strong and stiff using diagonal struts.

  • Foundation and Year 2 Fire Engine Visit- 3rd October

    Foundation and Year 2 were visited today by the local fire service. Firemen came in and spoke about their job and how they help people keep safe. The children got to go out to the fire engine, get inside, try on the uniform and even fire the hose!
