  • Foundation Parent Share- 25th May

    This afternoon, Foundation had their parent share. They performed a transport poem, shared their junk modelling vehicles and explained how they made maps using rice. They then had the chance to share their learning journals with their families.

  • Mental Health Awareness Week- w/b 15th May

    This week, we have been celebrating 'Mental Health Awareness Week'. We have all looked at how we can keep mental fit and healthy and what about our lives might make us not as mentally resilient. We have learnt a different breathing technique each day and completed an activity to help us identify who, what and where we feel safe at home and at school.

  • Walk to School Week- w/b 15th May

    This week, we have been celebrating 'Walk to School Week'. All children have been encouraged to walk to school or walk further to benefit themselves and the environment. It has been great to see more children take active journeys to and from school. Children had a booklet of activities to fill in each day, received a daily sticker and a trophy and the end of the week. Well done Henbury!

  • Year 3 Parent Share- 18th May

    Today, Year 3 had their parent share where they could show their grown ups what they had been learning this half term. The children put on a fabulous performance, involving drama to show Shackleton's journey to Antarctica, dancing to music on the Titanic and performing our English text map.

  • KS2 BSO Concert- 17th May

    This afternoon, Year 3 and Year 4 watched the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra's 2023 concert called 'Dance, Dance, Dance'. It was a great opportunity for the children to see an orchestra play and learn the different parts.

  • Year 1 Monkey World Trip- 15th May

    Today, Year 1 visited Monkey World. They had a fabulous day looking at all of the different monkeys, learning about conservation and helping to look after the animals.   • Year 3 Titanic Artefacts- 15th May

    As part of our history learning journey this half-term, Year 3 have been learning about the Titanic. We have been fortunate to be able to rent a box of artefacts from the Sea City Museum in Southampton to help us understand what life on the Titanic would have been like. We used the different artefacts to discuss questions around continuity and change and how life is similar and different now than in the past.

  • KS2 Tri-Golf Event- 15th May

    On Monday 15th May, 20 children from Year 3 and Year 4 visited Broadstone Middle School to take part in a tri-golf event. All of the children were a credit to the school, showing great teamwork and sportsmanship. After taking part in lots of different activities, the results showed we had come in 3rd place! Well done to all involved.

  • AFCB Football Sessions- 15th May

    During the Spring 2 and Summer 1 half terms, we have been fortunate to welcome coaches form AFC Bournemouth into school weekly to lead football sessions. They have worked with all classes, focusing on the key skills of passing, moving, dribbling and shooting. We ended our sessions with a game against our friends where we could put all of our practice into action!

  • MYTIME Assembly- 11th May

    Today, we welcomed Emma from MYTIME Young Carers into school to do our assembly about her role at the charity and tell us about what a young carer is. We learnt about who young carers are and what they do, thinking about how this might impact their life.

  • Dogs Trust Workshops- 9th May

    Today, we were so lucky to welcome Vicky (and her toy dog Sam!) from Dogs Trust into school. She firstly did an assembly where she taught us how to keep safe around dogs, whether we like dogs or not. She gave us lots of different strategies to help us if we feel anxious. We then all had a class workshop where we learnt more about how to look after dogs and how to behave around dogs to make sure they are calm and happy.

  • KS2 Coronation Tea Party- 4th May

    Today, the children in Year 3 and 4 have prepared and run their own coronation tea party. They children spent the morning making a selection of different sandwiches and scones to enjoy during the afternoon.
